Intentional self-destruction of a once powerful voice.
5th column or a huge gathering of extremely stupid people?
Your guess is as good as mine.
The Pubs continue to be a joke.
ZOT!!! Thanks, Mod. I'm beside myself and really can't be held responsible.
A woman? Maybe Argentinian?
It is a hard row to hoe, always has been since the only person able to walk on water is not a politician. We have lost some good potential leaders because we make personal morality so important in the GOP... and before anyone takes this wrong, I don’t condone this behavior....
There can’t be any middle ground. Anyone that shows such poor judgment in sexual matters, which is an important part of family and marital trust, also will have other issues. During the Clinton years it was often said “If his wife can’t trust him, how can we?”
LOL! Great comeback, xz! :-)
“””disappearing the way he did is evidence of a huge lack of good judgement.””””
Yeah but doing it incog is really tiresome. You gotta get money orders with cash to pay for hotel rooms, you have to make sure no mutual friendships exist between the two of you, you have to get another phone with a different credit card and just try and to get an unlisted number these days, boy I tell ya......
...um.... thats what a friend told me.
I peeped at your homepage and saw that.
I’m watching 2012.
Bill Clinton would have been dead, literally, if he’d pulled a stunt like this while in elected office (*any* elected office). Hillary knew full well from befoer they were married that he was cavorting regularly with all sorts of women and always would be, and that goes in the “boys will be boys” category. But being utterly irresponsible about one’s duties as chief executive of a state (or nation) is a whole different ballgame, and in Hillary’s case it would have damaged *her* political career. She’d have made sure he got Arkancided.
Indeed, and this is one of many reasons why the Republican Party would do well to *stop* trying to be the "family values" party. Just be the freedom party -- for free citizens with rock solid property rights and RKBA, and who aren't taxed to pay for schools they don't want to send their kids to, and for free states that aren't micromanaged by the federal government via an unconstitutional path of taxation and partial return of the tax funds with huge unwanted strings attached. Forget about marriage, forget about abortion, just stand for freedom as outlined in the Constitution, and let people run their own personal lives with their *own* money and property.
Neither Clinton nor Hart pulled a stunt even remotely comparable to this. This is a sitting governor who flat-out disappeared without telling *anyone* in the state government where he was or how to reach him. This is like a General in the Armed Forces simply going AWOL — it makes not one iota of difference what he was doing while AWOL, it’s the being AWOL that’s the career-ender. Sanford could have screwed all the Argentinian floozies he liked, and it would have been no big deal. But disappearing was a career-ending act.
Definitely. The other problem with being the “family values” party is that makes the GOP the perfect place to “hide”. Closeted perverts/ rapscallions have a tendency to be finger pointers, they figure a great way to draw attention away from themselves is to push it towards others. And note I’m not saying all finger pointers are closeted members of their target group, just some.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt up until this disclosure, but he is a weasel.
Not only is he uncaring of his own family, but of our country. Feh!
Shakespeare had the great line “my staff understands me.”
We can add to “beside myself” and “over myself” that I’m struggling to “understand myself.”
Sanford isn't in the GOP?
It's not being important is no doubt why Gingrich crawled on his knees to James Dobson's show:
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a potential Republican presidential candidate, will appear on James Dobson's Focus on the Family radio show and describe getting on his knees and seeking God's forgiveness for his moral failures, according to excerpts released Wednesday by the evangelical group.
Didn't affect his political hopes at all, did it?
And the "ethical issues" weren't a Democrat mantra in the 2006 elections, were they?
Are there any men left in politics? At this point I’ll take Lamont over Sanford (RIP Fred). /bad humor
Apparently, a host of devious ones. Think about the mind that avoids scandal by devising a scheme that stretches all the way to Argentina.
He knew it. No way he didn't know the risk. No way he didn't realize it was really bad political juju.
So, he disappears for a week and doesn't expect his wife and staff to wonder???? And ask questions?
That's getting beyond stupid and in range of Drop Zone Deliberate.
Aren’t you a CHAPLAIN???? What kind of Christian are you???
So, it’s unChristian to think the Pubbies are a joke????
so because hart and clinton didn’t disappear it was ok what they did...??...an affair is an affair he owned up to it unlike the likes of clinton lying to a grand jury was it..??....what i am saying is that when a repub does it and gets caught the media and dems run wild with the story...when a dem gets caught they try to sweep it under the rug....i have seen many and probably most repubs that got caught up in scandels step down...the dems refuse to step down as they feel they are above everyone else...
Aren’t you a CHAPLAIN??? ALL pubbies are NOT a joke. What if I said ALL Chaplains are a JOKE?
I feel your pain. I am still wondering how the media got his emails sent to them in December.
It seems to be a question not answered yet.
