The never-ending rain may be wreaking havoc with everyone's weekend plans this summer, but at the White House Garden this week, it was hailed as the reason the crops were so lush and abundant.
As fifth grade students picked 73 pounds of lettuce and 12 pounds of peas, assistant White House Chef Sam Kass noted that the garden had flourished quickly due to the downpours, the Washington Post reported.
Besides the lettuce and peas, the 1,100-suare foot, L-shaped garden has also produced beans, kale, chard, collard greens and herbs, Kass told the paper.
The White House kitchen has been turning the garden's beans into dinner fare every other day and the fresh herbs are used nightly.
Kass also noted that no chemicals were used on the vegetables, and Bo, the family dog, didn't eat any of the plants.
Earlier this week, pupils from Bancroft Elementary School, many of whom had helped First Lady Michelle Obama plant the garden back in April, returned to pick what they'd sown.

To be fair, I have a garden 25 miles as the crow flies from Michelle’s, and the crops are going crazy this year. We have just had spectacular conditions this year. Everything is huge. You don’t need any skill to grow in these conditions.
Let’s be real....The whole idea of the garden was to produce pictures like this.
Probably has the liberal butt secret service agents and the capital wannabe police performing that chore. They make good gophers and excel at checking those lunch bags through the scanning portals for IEDs. (Satire)

I saw that plot plan also and it certainly struck me as odd. ;)
Hardly the makings of a “balanced diet”. No tomatoes, beans, regular peas, corn, potatoes, pumpkins, squash, onions, cauliflower, etc. I can’t remember but there might have been a small plot of broccoli? Looks like a “gardening 101” *salad* garden* minus the carrots, tomatoes and radishes. :)
Please add in the part where all forclosed homes are filled with homeless/project parasites tenants in the upscale areas to norm out the neignborhood and self esteem.

Well sometimes the t-shirts are white when I leave the house. We won’t talk about what they look like after a few hours of weeding. ;)
And I must commend her on her weeding skills. My garden *never* looks that “perfect”. I’d sure like to know her secret. ;)
I thought the Uniform consisted of, a BET Baseball Cap worn (butt) backwards, a white (extra extra) large Tee Shirt and a pair of $200.00 Sagging Jeans worn (way below) your butt.
Now all I have to do is sit back and wait for one of the Obumunists to call me a racist’s. Satire on demand.
The color white is not popular in the OdummyOne admin or household.
