Cher's former daughter Chastity Bono has stepped out for the first time since undergoing a sex change.
The 40-year-old activist, who now wants to be known as Chaz, made his debut as a man after beginning the surgical process earlier this year.
Chaz, who now refers to himself as a 'he', was spotted enjoying a massage in West Hollywood yesterday.
Wearing combat shorts, T-shirt, trainers and baseball cap, Chaz certainly passed for an overweight American male as he left the Body Well in Santa Monica Boulevard on Tuesday

Of course, this was predictable when she named her child “Chastity”.

In these days the general culture is so immoral and confusing, all the public moral guideposts are turned to point the wrong way — even a good parent has a very hard time.
Good for her/him. I hope he finds happiness. Chastity always seemed to be stuck somewhere in the middle of male and female.

While Sonny was more accepting, Cher reacted badly.
The 63-year-old star has admitted: 'I flipped out. I'd always had this idea that she would get married and have a family.'
Distraught by her mother's reaction, Chaz abandoned her studies to attempt a rock career...In a later interview she said: 'My mum did not comfort me with kisses and cuddles. It was not the family way.'
This is my take - at the age of 18, no one really knows anymore who or what they really are. Had her mother not made a big stink, it is possible that this episode could have been relegated to simple experimentation.
The other issue, that of an unloving same-sex parent, is as far as I can tell the most common shared trait between homosexual individuals - as though the young adult is seeking affection from that parent via same-sex relationships.
I'm not condemning or condoning - that's not my job. My job is to listen to my clients and help them sort through these issues.
Notice too that the presumably more tolerant liberal parent was not.
