” The Ventures music sure brings back memories of my youth.”

Mine too in the early 60’s right around the time The Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan show . My buddy took up the guitar as a result of seeing the show and I started banging on pots and pans ! Anyway , my pal’s sister had a bunch of Ventures records so that was my first exposure to them . I always dug the albums “ Ventures In Space “ and “ ON STAGE “ which featured cuts from live concerts around the world inc. Japan and the recording was excellent .

I recall my uncle dropping over one time around 1964 when I was 12 , with some Chet Atkins records . I thought The Ventures could play ! He didn’t knock them ; he just suggested that I also listen to Atkins , which I did . In the early 70’s , just before he died , I took my uncle Doug to see Chet Atkins in concert at an outdoor venue in the New Jersey countryside . It was one of the biggest thrills of his life . He had ALL the albums and there a ton released .

I loved Chet Atkins...can’t remember him not being part of the mix of music I heard growing up.
