I don't consider Sammy even close to being the greatest entertainer but he seemed like a ‘nice man’.
I met and talked to him at Caesar's Palace in Vegas and he was kind enough to pose for pictures. I am 5'6” and scotched down a bit as he was so short!

I am 5'6” and scotched down a bit as he was so short! I was traveling yesterday and stopped at a D.Q. one of the young ladies, maybe 20 years old who was working there was quite short. Another customer, middle aged and should have known not to be so rude, asked her how tall she was. She answered him pleasantly enough that she was 4'9". I wanted her to ask him something personal, like, "how often do you brush your teeth" but she didn't.
