I thought this would be of interest to people here. Fitzgerald is trying to stop this book (Triple Cross).

Mr. Lance deserves lots of credit and he is definitely one who has lots to say. I read the book (library copy) and liked it. I've heard all Lance interviews. He makes a lot of sense but I refused to buy the book because..

the interviews somewhat annoyed me in that every act of mis-, mal-, and nonfeasance by any federal government employee was the doing of the "Bush 2" Administration. Lance even blamed "Bush 1" for letting the 1993 bombing of the WTC occur.

Lance made scant mention of Clinton. Those same federal employees were on their own apparently. Usually a caller had to ask, "Hey how about Clinton? He was president in the 1990s." Then Mr. Lance would allow that, yes, "President Clinton" made mistakes too.

He's done lots of valuable work and I like most of his explanations of what really happened that let 9/11 happen. He should just take something for the BDS.

Mr. Fitzgerald did not like the title.

Triple Cross: How bin Laden's Master Spy Penetrated the CIA, the Green Berets, and the FBI--and Why Patrick Fitzgerald Failed to Stop Him.

Something about it being too long. :)

It is tough at times to listen to people with BDS but sometimes what they are saying can be interpreted differently- such as he may be telling truth about what happened, but others (such as entrenched people in govt) may be true cause of what he says. Fitzgerald- someone I have not trusted since Scooter, and especially after Blago- why did he stop? Is he afraid of Obama?

Thanks for that ... I’ve been posting
the news about Fitzie’s gripe about Lance,
not knowing he included Pres. George W.
Bush in his rants and he’s a 9/11 truther.
Sick .. I’ll not buy that book.

RE: "[Lance] may be telling truth about what happened"

I think he is telling the truth. I reacted to his interviews by refusing to buy the book.

Hell, he even blamed "Bush 2" for Fitzgerald -- saying that "Bush 2" kept him on from "President Clinton's" Administration.

The federal prosecutors were more interested in winning their case against organized crime than using resources to go after -- what is clear in hindsight -- the Islamist threat. The evidence was there but hey! getting convictions against organized crime was the only thing that mattered. Then came the cover-up shenanigans by those very same "entrenched people in govt." That happened during the Clinton years BTW.

The book was relatively free of BDS.

RE: he’s a 9/11 truther

Lance IS NOT a 9/11 "truther"!

He is vehement about that.

In fact I'd say that Lance has the real story.

I just did not like how the interviews named "Bush 2" repeatedly as being the president and therefore responsible.

Clinton was rarely named and usually only only when a caller asked about Clinton's responsibilities.

Basically, I was trying to say that Lance's interviews rarely connected problems to the Clinton White House but it seemed to me that everything that went wrong during the Bush years was "Bush 2's" fault -- even if the bungler was a GS-2 clerk.

Repeat: Lance IS NOT a 9/11 "truther"!

I swear I don't see how what I said came anywhere close to that truther B.S.

RE: truthers

Were you responding to my statement "Lance even blamed 'Bush 1' for letting the 1993 bombing of the WTC occur."?

Lance did say in one interview that the planning and other activities had to have occurred while "Bush 1" was president. Therefore, the bombing was not "President Clinton's" fault.

Again: Lance IS NOT a 9/11 "truther"! He is vehemently against that stupid notion and has argued on C2C against the ones who feel that "Bush brought down the Towers"

That may well be .. but as you posted:

“that every act of mis-, mal-, and nonfeasance by any federal government employee was the doing of the “Bush 2” Administration.”

That’s enough for me.

First of all, the daggone Russians are still at it. Putin’s spies are as bad as ever. Second, I can’t believe this guy’s acting like it was some kind of joke.

It was and is despicable. We helped save their darned butts from Hitler. They’d be goose-stepping and singin sig heil to this day if it weren’t for us.

We never did one thing to them. We only ever tried to help thm. And all the Russians have ever done is try to undermine our country, and our freedom. Some gratitude!

It is a disgrace. Every Russians should be ashamed of it. And they should demand that their government stop trying to screw up the United States.

Finally, I halfway think this guy’s still on the take.

That part is true as far as my opinion of his interviews go.

That is maddening for me.

I don't recall any interview mention of Gorelick - Clinton Administration connections -- unless a caller asked -- but when a GS-2 clerk messed up while "Bush 2" was president it was the "Bush 2" Administration's fault. A little hyperbole but that's how the interviews on C2C sounded to me.

However the book did not have that flaw. I enjoyed reading it and I cannot say that about too many 500-plus-page books.

“The book lied about the facts and alleged that I deliberately misled courts and the public in ways that in part caused the deaths in the 1998 embassy bombing attacks and in the attacks of September 11, 2001,” Fitzgerald said in an e-mail Monday.

Fitzgerald grew up in New York, where he made a name prosecuting terrorists. Lance’s book accuses him and other top officials in 1996 of discrediting “a treasure trove of al-Qaida-related evidence,” including information of a bin Laden plot to hijack a plane, according to a news release on the book. The book also accuses Fitzgerald of filing a false court affidavit involving terror investigations.
