In all seriousness, what do you think isa proper annual salary for a 25 year old cop who is subject to monthly audits, random blood, urine, and cavity checks and who pins a target over his heart every day?

Funnily enough, this is not a pro-cop argument. It's an anti-spending government money on anything but the essentials argument. I think it's not unreasonable to expect such "audits". I also think that few people would take the job at current salaries with those added requirements. But we could afford to pay that added extra if we weren't subsidizing bastardy, indolence, and addiction.
