Many innocent people without video evidence are still incarcerated no doubt. I'm not bashing LEOs. It is clear that many rarely effectively police themselves until it's so blatant.

Yes,fire the cops.Charge the cops.Sue them, individually. But unless the cops have a documented history of bringing false charges against innocent people there should be **NO** lawsuits against the City or State of New York.

$10 Million seems a bit steep for reparations, but if it includes an element of punitive damages that might teach the cops a lesson or two.

Both cops should be suspended without pay and have the book thrown at them. Nothing less than 10 years in the can.

I am normally not lawsuit happy. But in this case I hope they get awarded twice that amount and it comes right from the officers pocket.

A police officer who fabricates a crime against a citizen should be jailed for life.

Same with any corruption by officers.

AND I SUPPORT THE POLICE! MY SON IS ONE!

Cheap and effective cameras and storage media are doing a better job of enforcing police ethics than internal investigation divisions.

We are coming into a time in society where privacy will be rare and treasured. Most people will understand that nearly all their public actions will be on media of some kind or another. This potentially gives government enormous power.

Jose quickly got the tape to defense attorney Rochelle Berliner, a former narcotics prosecutor. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"I almost threw up," she said. "Because I must've prosecuted 1,500, 2,000 drug cases ... and all felonies. And I think back, Oh my God, I believed everything everyone told me. Maybe a handful of times did something not sound right to me. I don't mean to sound overly dramatic but I was like, sick."

Now can we end the War on Drugs?

What the tape doesn't show is striking: At no point ... did the brothers appear to be involved in a drug deal with anyone else. Adding insult to injury, an outside camera taped the undercovers literally dancing down the street.

I'm thinking that there is a rapidly-expanding market for something that can video one's every moment and have it instantly uploaded to a secure site for future use.

It may be the only way to fight the largest, best financed, best equipped, best supported street gang in America (the cops).
