Kayaker Breaks World Record

This is unreal. Happened about 70 miles North of me. Palouse Falls is a huge waterfall and the volume of water that goes over it immense.

It is 186 feet high and a straight vertical drop. I cannot believe a Kayaker went over it...but he did. Watch this incredible video of this new world record.

Freedom is sometimes a weird thing.
This fortunate (for now) young man has some weird life priorities.
Is there some hidden story about how he is making the USA a better place?

“Taking such a risk is considered a mortal sin in my church.”

“pretty stupid, cant see how that takes any skill, just no brain”

I bet the same things were said when Orville and Wilbur’s crazy antics were posted on you-tube in the early 1900’s

There are old kayakers and bold kayakers.

There are no old, bold kayakers.

I fail to see the connection between the technology leap allowing man to fly and a guy going over a waterfall in a kayak. GIMME GIMME’s and WARM FUZZIES somehow think the kayak waterfall thing benefits mankind? I posit it is an extremely selfish act admired by those who are also extremely selfish.

It’s called freedom. It doesn’t have to be wise or useful.
Lookin back the technology leap is quite clear. At the time not so much.

If you would have promoted the freedom concept from the beginning I would have no disagreement.
