They don't care. With these people, it's politics first, second and third. Viewers, ratings and profit are all way down the list.
FNC has proved that the key to winning viewers is to be more balanced, but no one follows. Their competitors all move further to the left which is counter to every principle of business management - emulate or mimic the success of the market leaders.
When Starbucks became wildly successful, tea houses didn't spring up across the country, other coffee houses did. If ABCCBSNBCMSNBCCNN were in the coffee business, they'd be selling tea.
I agree with that, and I’ve made the point on other threads. The news and entertainment business in this country is not focused on profits, but on an agenda. One can look at the long string of anti-Iraq War movies that came out — they all seemed to lose money, but they kept coming out, one after another. Hollywood could have stopped making them. They could have switched gears and made a pro-Iraq War movie. But the agenda was more important than the money.
