Gov. Sarah Palin came out swinging on an appearance on the 'Today' show this morning. Ostensibly an interview about the Alaska natural gas pipeline and the future of the Republican party, the conversation quickly turned to David Letterman's comment that Palin looks like "a slutty flight attendant," and his remarks about Palin's daughter, Willow.
Matt Lauer defended Letterman at one point saying Letterman, "did not mention Willow by name," to which Palin said, "I would say that you and anybody else are extremely naïve to believe David Letterman's extremely convenient excuse....Regardless, it was a degrading comment about a young woman."
When Lauer asked if Palin's response to Letterman, that he couldn't be trusted around Willow, was in bad taste, Palin said, "Take it however you want to take it."
Other quotable moments:
"The problem is the double standard that has been applied here. Remember in the campaign, Barack Obama said 'family's off limits, do not talk about my family,' and 'the Candidate Who Must Be Obeyed,' everybody adhered to that and they did leave his family alone. They didn't do that on the other side of the ticket, and it has continued to this day."
"He doesn't have to apologize to me. I would like to see him to apologize to young women across the country for contributing to that thread throughout our culture that makes it seem OK to talk about young girls in that way, where it's OK, accepted and funny to talk about statutory rape. It's not cool and it's not funny."
"This so-called humor, I don't find it humorous."

Sarah Palin’s children are not off limits simply because she is a conservative, plain and simple.

David Letterman: "That Sasha is slutty and the other one had sex with A-Rod"
I would give him 5 seconds before he is at Gitmo next to Khalid Sheik.

I would give him 5 seconds before he is at Gitmo next to Khalid Sheik And Pelosi and Co. would volunteer to go down there just to waterboard him.

GO SARAH GO!
Most people know exactly why they are going after Sarah...and both sides understand it. It is overreach by the left, the MSM, and the RINOs because most Americans still have some decency left in them (outside the beltway and many of the urban area leftist enclaves) and will respond accordingly.
As a result, the more the MSM, the DNC, the leftists, liberals, and the RINOs go after her, the more respected and better positioned she will be to help us take back our country in 2010 and 2012.

Of course the liberal entertainment media (Yahoo, AOL..) are now spinning it as “Palin’s Weird Interview,” replete with a goofy video still of her.
Amazing.

Letterman and the left are simply sending a shot across the bow. In effect, they are saying “If you persist in pursuing a national political career, you can expect that you and your family will NOT get the respect that we reserve for the Obamas”.

Time for Sarah to go into kick butt mode!
To: trisham
Sarah kicked butt! Seems like Matt had to swallow some pride and reluctantly give Sarah the respect she deserves.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME, HEY MATT LAUER GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF LETTERMAN’S BUT*
To: nhwingut
They can spin it however they'd like. A lot of people will actually watch the interview....and see these fools for the liars they are.
They may not admit it out loud, but they will know.

“Didn’t mention her by name.” This guys on national TV and that’s the best excuse he can give for Letterman’s inexcusable behavior? He’s pathetic.

Agreed. I don't think he expected her to conduct herself with such confidence. She seemed well prepared, and I think he was taken off guard.

She seems the same to me. An outfit can add or take away 5 - 10 lbs. As does the hair.
