Just one week ago, 3-year-old Shaylee was playing at her grandmother's house in Bonham, Texas.
Moments later she was brutally attacked by a neighbor's pit bull.
Now Shaylee's family is praying for a miracle.
Shaylee is recovering at the Dallas Children's Hospital surrounded by family and where a team of doctors are working to repair extensive injuries that she suffered.
Here at home friends are working on bringing the crosson family some hope.
80-percent of her scalp ripped away and deep gashes to her little face.
Shaylee crosson is fighting for her life after a vicious pit bull attack turned a visit to grandma's into a nightmare.
Friends Romi Abalos and Chloe Dow have children Shaylee's age.
They play together . And when they got the calls from their friend Lacyee on the night of June 4th about the attack, they knew right then they needed to help.
We celebrate b-days together we do alot of b-b-q's together it's tough to see. These people are like brothers and sisters there is nothing we wouldn't do for each other.
For Shaylee's parents times have been tough financially and emotionaly.
And for the little girl affectionantly called "Shaylee bug" the road ahead will be a long one. Enduring four surgeries in just a one week and more reconstructive surgery in the future.
She's never going to look the same but she's alive and that's more precious than anything in the world.
But through faith, there is some good news and friend say that's what matters most.
We recieved some good news shaylee is eating...her wounds are healing.
I'll see you soon Shaylee bug.
If you would like to help shaylee and her family with mouting medical bills a fund has been set up at Wells Fargo bank. Just ask for the pray for Shaylee-Bug Fund.
They are also asking for prayers. A prayer circle will be held tomorrow night 7:00 PM at Jim Parker Park.
Friends say they are also planning a bike wash and a future benefit.
Ouch.
You don’t like pit bulls huh.
These are not dogs, but monsters. How many more people have to be attacked, mauled, maimed and even killed before something is done about these things?
But these attacks are so rare? I’m really getting pissed about these attacks, America does nothing. I’m for eliminating the species plain and simple.
How does this have anything to do with the rabid left?
Hmmm nope I wikipedia'd it and pit bulls are in fact dogs. I mean come on is a shark a monster? No it's a shark. It's a lion that tries to eat Barack Obama's brother a monster? No it's a lion.
It's just doing what it does. If you don't like them then try to have them outlawed or restricted or whatever you want. But calling them monsters when they're actually just pissed off crazy dogs doesn't make a lot of sense.
*shrug* We’ll get to them after we recognize the same traits in muslims?
These dogs should be outlawed. Anyone owning one in the future who owns one that harms anyone should be thrown in jail for life. This has got to stop.
Pit Bulls are the muslims of the dog world: most are good but the bad ones are so bad you can’t trust any of them.
Was that supposed to be funny? Sorry, you’re not.
Right. Which means ‘never’.
Uh was your post supposed to be factual or related to reality in any way? Sorry it wasn't but you were funny.
Whatever. You pick one comment and decided to play comedian. You weren’t funny. And, regardless of what you think, my comment about what should be done about these MONSTERS still stands.
Thank you.

Pit bull attacks two year old in Wilmington
By Peter MacArthur
Wilmington Police are looking for the owner of a pit bull that bit a two year old girl Wednesday night.
Police got to the 1 thousand block of West 5th Street at about 9:30 and found a woman holding the child, who was bleeding profusely from the neck. Police say the girl’s mother was watching the dog for a neighbor and was keeping the animal in her basement. The two year old and her three siblings, ages 13, 10 and 9, were playing with the dog when it bit the girl on the neck. The other kids were able to get the dog off and it was secured in the backyard.
It’s being quarantined for the time being. The girl was rushed to the hospital, underwent emergency surgery and is listed in stable condition.
Police say the owner is a man named DJ who they’re trying to track down for questioning.
Having once owned a large “dangerous dog”, my hope is the owner of this dog faces serious criminal charges.
All dog owners must keep their pets 100% controlled at all times.
I prefer German Shepherds, but currently do not own a dog, since I do not have the time, and a suitable habitat to keep one healthy and happy.
Given the degree of precaution it requires to safely maintain control over an animal capable of independent aggressive and potentially lethal actions...I remain puzzled about the “logic” of many pet owners.
Many seem to think a person must obtain a government “permit”
to own an inanimate metal object (IE a gun), but chafe at any attempt to require “permits” for pet ownership.
Prayers for the little girl.
