I am sorry our perspective is different.

I am very comfortable with those who post on FR. Read for many years before I posted anything, only then when I was trying to fix a problem I helped start.

It is not worth the effort for me to explain to you how I came to my opinions about that conflict. I do not live in the past, do not study that war, and it was very painful for my ancestors. That is how we arrived in Texas.

My family has lived in Haskell County since 1886, some of the land that my father, uncle, and brother own has been in the family for 110 years.

My grandfather told me that he never heard his father mention the War, although he was old enough to remember it when it was going on, and he certainly remembered Reconstruction. They did not discuss it, but never forgot the lesson from an oppressive government. Those biases were conveyed down from generation to generation. That has not changed. It is still present in most of Texas.

It is probably not possible for me to say anything that would change your mind, and you probably cannot influence mine. So an “argument” about something like this is absolutely pointless.

It was not about Slavery, especially during Reconstruction. That is when it became the most bitter.

Look we are on the same side now.

I doubt you and RaceBannion have anything in common. He is an Idiot and doesn't realize that Abe was one of the biggest racists around.
