Does BASS still qualify? :)
I've been playing all of 1.5 years (started at the early age of 43!) and am in a 50's/60's Rock & Roll Revue band (www.skydaddy.net).
I play an Epiphone Jack Casady semi-hollowbody (gold!) for this band.
For our church worship team I play either an Ibanez ATK750AK, a Musicman Stingray, a Fender Jazz fretless or a Breedlove B3 acoustic.

I agree, it is not the best sounding guitar, it is simply the best of what I have. Next time I have a large sell commission or get a bonus I am thinking Martin.

I’m saving my pennies for a Martin as well - lots and lots of pennies...I played a Breedlove (the handcrafted one) a couple of years ago and it was incredibly responsive and warm, but $4100 without an electronics package was a bit too rich for my blood. Our worship leader has a Collings (out of Austin), and it’s nice but, IMHO, nothing special - and it’s in the Breedlove price range.

I'm a big fan of
The Gear Page. It's probably the single best guitar oriented website I've ever seen. Guys like Suhr, David Collings, and John Hurtt (the guy who founded the Fender Custom Shop) are regular posters there. So's David Torn and (rumored) John Mayer.

Christmas a year ago my child bride of 33 years presented me with a near perfect 1954 D28. I collect and play .. also have a Croce HD28 with a dime embedded (Operator) and a 68 D35.
The 54 D28 surpasses the other two by leaps and bounds, they seldom get played anymore.

I'm a big Line6 fan, too. I've got a PodXT Live through a Crate Powerblock that sounds just phenomenal. That's actually a great setup. Can you still get a Powerblock? Seems they became awfully hard to find shortly after they were released. Nobody has them in stock anymore.
It really isn't at all uncommon these days to see a stage lined with Marshall stacks only to have Line6 gear hidden behind the scenes doing the real work.

Favorite out of my electrics - Ibanez AM 205 (not my photos, but snagged online) - now a collectors item.

I've always like the Martin Acoustical guitar, but like so many thing these days, their quality seems to have drifted a bit.....Have you test driven an HD28?

Nobody has them in stock anymore.I got mine when Musician's Friend did a blowout. You can still find them for around a hundred bucks on Ebay. I need to buy about five more and keep 'em in the box.

I’ve been playing guitar for 20 years, and have switched between guitar & bass in various churches since 1993. My current collection includes a beat up “Cort” acoustic/electric, an Ovation acoustic/electric, an Aria Pro II Les Paul copy (specially modified by my uncle), a Brian May Signature, and a Fender Precision bass.
Click on my profile for a link to some of my (home) recordings via ReverbNation (or, go to ReverbNation and search for Mikedog in San Antonio).
