If the Government Does Own Stakes in GM and Chrysler...
self

If the Government does acquire stakes in GM and Chrysler, they should immediately issue and award an equal number of shares to every legal citizen of the United States. Divide a $60 billion stake per 250-odd million citizens and be done with it. I do not trust the Department of Treasury to hold our stake in trust for us.

They should give each of us our stake, let us buy and sell them in the market as normal, let us elect a board of directors, and manage OUR company.

I se nothing unreasonable in this. In dact, Congress should demand it.

Repubs already have drafted such a Bill....but to be divided amongst the 120 million 2008 Taxpayers, whose names are already easily accessible. Implementation, a breeze (by gummit standards). Should be available soon at thomas.loc.gov.

good idea, but America doesn’t own it bambi does. He is going to use the proceeds as a political slush fund.
Nobody is going to do anything about it.
