BUT — there really IS something there. I never saw a head or body, but there was something that was leaving a wake -— against a windy current. It was off the coast of a northern section of the lake between North Hero and Alburg,in about 20 to 30 feet of water. There was a southern fetch with small choppy waves and something was just under the surface causing a wake going in the opposite direction of the fetch. I was at a camp, vacationing, and others saw it too. One couple took their outboard near the wake, but as they approached, the wake stopped. But we had seen it for quite a few minutes as it traveled south.

I was an avid fisher in that lake and caught just about everything there, and had heard about large sturgeon being there, but never saw one. Was that it?
