Winnie-the-Pooh floats back on screens in 2011

LOS ANGELES (AFP) – Winnie-the-Pooh, the honey-loving, cuddly bear beloved by generations of children, is to hit the big screen again in 2011 with another animated version of his adventures, US media said Tuesday.

Disney is hoping the new film chronicling the tales of Pooh and his friends, Christopher Robin, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger and Owl will prove as big a hit as the last screen animation in 2005, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Eisner ran the Disney brand into the mud, and its not going to turn around anytime soon.

They're working on it. I remember for one thing Lasseter ordered a halt to all movie production when he took over so he could review. He apparently was killing off some of those garbage straight to video sequels.

Give them some time to clean up that absolute train wreck.

And Bolt was pretty good.

Actually, the original “Adventure’s of Winnie the Pooh” DVD that you may own is made up of three Shorts (or mini movies) that are bridged together. They were not originally shown together as one movie but were shown individually before Disney Feature movies.

It wasn’t until the advent of VHS that they were linked together and packaged as one feature movie.

Here's an informative Pooh blog, Just Pooh. I agree with Ham that the 2000 Disney movie was a travesty. Some things are so perfect in the original that almost any adaptation is going to be a disappointment.

Yes, I know the films were shorts, that were later put together, along with a 4th short into the film. You can tell the quality drop just from the first 3 and then the 4th, but its still far superior to anything Disney has done with Pooh since.

And no “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” were not put together strictly for the DVD/VHS, The 3 existing shorts, were put together and a 4th one added and it was released as a Feature film in 1977.
