“the stuff about country, loyalty, justice is just a thin shell over the lust for control and power”

To the corrupt, sure. And possibly for a plurality/majority of the kind of people there are in congress, etc.

But there are still a great many for whom those things are very real, not because they are propagandized, but because it’s meaningful.

But also it depends how you define “country”. They are trying to define America as a “country of the world” where any and all have as much right to come, simply because most people immigrated a few hundred years ago. As if the shorter period of time makes America less of those people than India is of the Indians, or China of the Chinese. And there is not currently an answer to that out there, so it remains, like the default position, because no one is countering it.

Absolutely, and some of these are even in the leadership.

It’s the power-seekers, the ones that will reach down from the throne to flick a CEO out, that find duty, honor, pride, Constitution, fairness, and justice to be either tools or impediments.

I noticed that Pravda used sheeple, now where have I read that before (lol)? The whole article is cleverly crafted to poke the USA and spread anti-American memes.
