A rep for the Phoenix Police Department has just released the following statement regarding Mike Tyson's 4-year-old daughter:
I was just advised by investigators that Exodus Tyson was pronounced deceased at 11:45 AM today at the hospital. Our sympathies go out to the family.
Paramedics were called to Tyson's Phoenix home at around 10:30 Monday morning when his 7-year-old son found the young girl hanging from a treadmill by its power cable.
Tyson's reps have no comment at this time.

I watched bits and pieces of Mike T’s documentary on youtube last night. Most of his life was tragic. The only real father he had was Cus D’Amato which was his first trainer. After Cus died his life and career just took a downward spiral.

Tyson’s life has taken its share of tragic turns, many of which were of his own making, but no one deserves this. Prayers and tears.

Lord Jesus, we pray that you wrap your arms of love around this little one who has come unto You. Strengthen those who survive. This tragedy has no words of condolence from us that can ease the pain. Nonetheless, we thank You for your triumph over death. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Oh, definitely not. What's the old saying, "no parent should outlive their child."

My heart aches . We can't safeguard against everything dangerous to our children , but we can learn and share from these specific examples . When my daughter was only three one of her two year old friends choked to death while sitting on her own mothers lap after swallowing a deflated balloon . To say it affected my daughter is a gross understatement . For years afterward she and her friends would spring to action when or where ever they saw a loose ballon and would lecture anyone within earshot of the danger . This routine may have saved some little ones life and I am glad I can type it now , because I sure couldn't tell you this story in person without some awful sniffs .

"We were so hoping shed pull through. As was I. This is pure speculation, but she was probably already brain dead when she arrived at the hospital and they just waited to turn off life-support until her father returned home and had an opportunity to say goodbye.
I also feel horribly for her older adolescent brother who apparently was the one who discovered her. That's not something that an adult gets over easily, let alone a child.
