PHOENIX - The 4-year-old daughter of legendary boxer Mike Tyson is in critical condition after a family member found her hanging from a cord.
Monday around 10:30 a.m., Phoenix Police and paramedics were called out to Tyson's home in the 6100 block of 10th Ave in Phoenix on reports of an unresponsive child.
CPR was administered and the girl was taken to St. Joe's Hospital. She's on life support and in extremely critical condition.
According to police, the victim's 7-year-old brother discovered the child in distress, and alerted their mother. She found the girl with a cable around her neck, hanging from the treatmill, and immediately called 911.
Phoenix Police are investigating. So far, they believe the incident was accidental.
The 4-year-old victim is the daughter of boxer Mike Tyson, who was out of town at the time of the accident and is now on his way home.

Never leave anything around that could hang a child.
Belts over chairs.
Cords from blinds. Aprons hanging from a fridge.
It is difficult to be as vigilante as you need to be, but you have to be.
My prayers go out to the little girl for a full recovery and to her family for peace.
I don’t even have kids and I’m in the habit of tying the cord for the blinds up ot of reach. Pot handles on the stove to the side etc.

I think they meant treadmill.
“Apparently she and her older brother were watching TV in the TV room,” Hill told News-Talk 92.3 KTAR. “There was also a number of pieces of exercise equipment, and somehow the little girl got herself on a piece of equipment and she ended up kind of choking herself.”
Hill said the brother went and got their mom, who was cleaning in the other room, and that’s when the mother immediately called 911 and started CPR on the young girl. She was rushed to the hospital and is on life support in extremely critical condition.
Mohammad Kahlik lives next door to the girl and says Tyson’s ex-wife and two children live in the house. He says the four-year-old is a sweetheart.
“She is very polite, very friendly and very playful, you know? A really nice girl,” Kahlik told KTAR.
Kahlik says the Tyson’s are good neighbors and that Mike Tyson comes to the house regularly.
Investigators are still on the scene trying to figure out exactly how the girl got strangled by the exercise equipment.
It’s not just rope-type items either. Be careful of rungs of chairs, ornate table legs, iron bedsteads, lawn furniture, and general furniture placement. I had to break apart a quilt rack because of a little one’s head was caught.
Exactly. You can spend a lot of time being almost obsessive about (nothing sharp or hot or heavy on the counters that a toddler could pull down, mugs of hot coffee out of reach, etc.) But you’ve got to spend the effort if there is any chance of little ones being about.
It’s just not worth the risk of leaving dangers about. Kids seem to gravitate toward them.
God bless those little ones. There are so many dangers not only on the outside but on the inside too.

I’ve always said, “You’ve got to be lucky to get old.” Of course, I’ve always been an adrenaline junkie...and I’ve been lucky.
Praying for her! Oh I hope she makes it. Poor baby.
Treadmills are dangerous! My child (much older) was running on Grandma’s and fell and the skin on his legs was peeled off pretty DEEP as the treadmill kept going.
