"You freaks are a hoot!!!"

You are one mean person. If you think that some here are such "freaks", then why do you visit their threads?

You have done NOTHING to refute the claims, only throw around insults and act like a big bully.

That says much more about you then it does them.

I bet you're too cowardly to give a straight yes or no answer to this question: Do you think Gordon Cooper was an insane kook? YES OR NO, I dare you. Before you answer, read the following and understand that this is only one of many such events related by the author, so arguments that "I think he believed he saw a UFO but was really mistaken" will be regarded and rejected as cowardly evasions insulting a guy with far more aviation experience than 99.99 percent of humans, alive or dead, incuding YOU, Onerom99. Unless, of course, you are a Mercury 7 astronaut yourself posting anonymously.

"It was in Europe, 1951, that I saw my first UFO. When the alert sounded, my squadron mates and I dashed from the ready room and scrambled skyward in our F-86s to intercept the bogies. We reached our maximum ceiling of around 45,000 feet, and they were still way above us, and traveling much faster. I could see that they weren't balloons or MIGs or like any aircraft I had seen before. They were metallic silver and saucer-shaped. We couldnt get close enough to form any idea of their size; they were just too high. For the next two or three days the saucers passed over the base daily. Sometiems they appeared in groups of four, other times as many as sixteen. They could outmaneuver and outflank us seemingly at will. They moved at varying speeds -- sometimes very fast, sometimes slow -- and other times they would come to a dead stop as we zoomed past underneath them. We had no idea whether they were lookint at us or what they were doing. They came right over the air base at regular intervals all day long, generally heading east to west over Central Europe."

(italics emphasis in the original book copy, taken from "Leap of Faith" by Gordon Cooper, Mercury 7 astronaut)

So, Onerom99, put your money where your mouth is. Was Gordon Cooper an insane kook? YES OR NO?
