I’m wondering why your screen name is Screaming_Gerbil.
Would it have anything to do with some of your favorite activities?
As for these so-called “transgendered” women, THE CHROMASOMES DO NOT LIE! They are STILL men!
You could probably find some “pretty” blow-up dolls to romp with, too, but that doesn’t make them women.
As women, these men look like high-mileage prostitutes at best. If that’s what turns you on, have at it, but for me, it’s gross.
“The other conflicts in those who seek “sex change” surgery experience are a failure to embrace the goodness and beauty of their masculinity or femininity, hatred of their bodies, deep resentment with a parent or peer, childhood loneliness and sadness, rejection by peers of the same gender, intense fears of being betrayed and hurt, and a deep desire to be protected in the world.”
The above quote also defines the classic “liberal”.
Yeah that is funny but how do you feel about an Nationalized program that will have you pay for abortions, sex change operations etc?
I also worked with someone. D.C. employs a few. My problem with it is that it is based on a fiction. I believe doctors who perform such surgeries are violating their oath to do no harm.
You are welcome. There are a lot of good resources on www.narth.com which offer a solid foundation for challenging the irrational sexual activism which is hurting so many people.
Aren’t we all. :-) Why not free plastic surgery for everyone?
The same way I feel about nationalized programs that pay for asthma inhalers, heart medications and dialysis treatments.
Good but those items are far more explosive in mounting public opposition to nationalized health care.
What is your point? That transsexuals exist? We all knew that and no one said that a person can’t be successful as a transsexual only that the idea behind is entirely wrong.
Is it just me or do all sex change people either end up looking like Robert Plant or Janet Reno?
lol Some do some don’t how well they end up looking doesn’t concern me.
My point... Well, I guess it's primarily that there are some people who obviously can't cut it being a regular guy and want to be women (or as close as medical science can make them to one).
Throughout history in different cultures there have been these people that didn't quite fit the gender mold (Joan of Arc was apparently one).
If some babies are born with various obvious physical forms of intersex conditions (Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, Androgen insensitivity syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, etc.) why is it so hard to believe that there is a brain version of the same thing?
I say let those who feel strongly enough to get the therapy and go through the medical procedures to transition to what they consider their correct gender if that's what makes them happy.

No, I don't have a pet Gerbil...
I have always felt for those who were somewhat smaller and weaker than the others, and I chose the screen name to visualize a little gerbil screaming. I thought at the time it was a cute name. It didn't occur to me that homosexual urban legend (at least I hope it's only an urban legend) with small furry animals was so prevalent in our culture that you can't mention the word gerbil without people always visualizing something disgusting...
Anyways, back to the transsexuals...
I don't believe that the equivalent of insulting and slapping around a boy who is a sissy and wants to be a girl into being a man is going to work for all these people. Some just are not cut out for being men (or for some girls, not cut out for being women).
I believe that Transgender / Transsexual people are people deserving of the same rights and legal protections we all are entitled to.
If that's what they want to spend their money on, vs. a sports car or a boat or a private plane or a vacation trip or a gun collection or some other interest or hobby that we wouldn't feel we have to justify either, then so what?
Are these people the best examples of mentally healthy individuals? Of course not, not with their issues. Some (the ones who start early) apparently turn out pretty good. The ones who start later in life obviously are going to look more like men in drag. I am sure they know this. Obviously some do ok with it all and some can't handle it. I am sure it works itself out. Natural selection and all of that.
That's all...
Sorry for confounding your screen name.
Nobody is talking about slapping anybody around to make them become a man.
I was a small, thin, artsy little guy in elementary school and junior high school. I was lousy at sports. I preferred playing piano and drawing to such “manly” activities. Needless to say, I was smacked around and teased a lot. My dad was a real hard guy, born in Italy.
Nevertheless, things changed when I got to high school and I started dating girls. My musical talent paid off with the girls, for sure. Eventually I married, and now have 11 children (see my tag line). I’m very, very glad that there were no “transgender support groups” to completely screw me up when I was younger!
Welcome to the new Dark Ages, where science rules by consensus rather than empiricism, and higher education's purpose is to indoctrinate rather than inculcate critical thinking.
