Mike Judge wasn't involved in the Daria TV series, except to give permission for the use of the character. Glenn Eichler oversaw Daria when she had her own show.

She did start off as a character on Judge's "Beavis and Butthead", and I liked Daria series much better than "King of the Hill". Maybe it's a generational thing, I'm in my 20s.

It's too bad Beavis & Butt-head never did a cameo on Daria's show though. That would have been fun.

BTW, Glenn Eichler is also considered a conservative, he’s best known for penning the satire book “Bill and Hillary’s 12-Step Guide to Recovery” and “Overcoming Liberalism: A 12-Step Program”
