Dear FRiends,

In light of what is transpiring in our nation’s capitol, more than ever, we need to ensure that places like Free Republic and other like-minded places continue to speak the plain truth. Newspapers are dying and the current administration will either bail them out or allow them to fail. If they are bailed out, they will be even more beholding to the coming socialist agenda. If they are allowed to fail, the powers that be will force the remaining electronic media to fill the void. Local coverage only. No national syndicated news/talk. The “Fairness Doctrine”, like it or not.

After that, the internet. Free Republic. And others.

We need to get this FReepathon over and right now. We need to show that we are serious and will continue forward and thrive, not just survive.

If you can spare a couple of bucks, that would be great...If not, God bless you and please stop by the FReepathon thread and give it a bump.

We’re all in this together.

Anything that is uncomfortable or done against your will can considered torture. Paying taxes is torture.

To me, listening to most morning-show radio “personalities” is torture. Thankfully, it’s easy to stop that form of torture.

They asked him the serious question of “do you think this is torture” but they did not ask him the all important question...

If you could have stopped another 9/11 by this method, would you do it.. or let thousands of ppl die.

Thus, far the only two supporters of Bush’s foreign policy to be waterboarded, Hitchens and Mancow, have called it torture. Why don’t all those who use the words “enhanced interogation” be honest and start proudly announcing that they are for entrusting Obama with the right to TORTURE people at will? Let’s get some honesty here. On the other hand, it might be more productive if they skipped the next episode of 24 and instead read what Acton had to say about the abuse of power.

It is not torture. We don’t force it upon the terrorists. The terrorists have the abilty to stop it at any time — even before it starts — by just saying the following:

“I’ll tell you everything you want to know.”

I'm sure both Hitchens and Madcow would agree that waterboarding "ain't no thang" if they were allowed to compare and contrast it with finger snipping.

I would be happy to do it if others will restrain them, and don't let them scream so much.

And your point is.....what? That it isn't torture? If not, do you, or don't you, want to give Obama the power to torture people at will?

A lot of folks in the Obama administration think that you’re a “terrorist” because you patronize this site....and you want to give Obama that power to torture at will? Go figure.

It's not torture. I don't care who Obama waterboards. Around here we've all been trained to not let it disable us.

Frankly, Obama should participate in it himself ~ he needs it. Then, he can do it to Michelle. She needs it too.

They should waterboard all their friends too.

When it comes to REAL TORTURE, like cutting parts off your body........

Question, is sleep deprevation torture? Psy ops with tapes of rabbits being skinned alive? Desecration of graves of family members?

Why didn’t the left speak out about the psychological torture at Waco?

they are for entrusting Obama with the right to TORTURE people at will?

Not only that, we are killing people too. Blowing them right out of their socks with Hellfire missiles.

Not only that, we've got marines kicking in doors and killing them where they stand. And if they throw down their weapons fast enough, sometimes we take them prisoner, and sweat them for information, and then throw them into prison.

And Obama is commander in chief. He's in charge now. Its a war.

If you're doing those things to American citizens, then I have a problem. If its a war and you're killing the enemy, and capturing them and sweating them for information, then no, I don't have a problem. Its a war.

Now, if you're actually worried about torture, there is plenty of it out there to worry about. Every American who gets captured, every American who surrenders, is routinely tortured to death, and his burned or dismembered body left on the side of the road. There aren't any Americans in captivity because all of them get tortured to death. There is no AQ equivalent to Guantanamo because their captives don't live longer than the few hours it takes to get them in front of a video camera. So if you're against torture, you ought to be. And the right answer is to find those people and dispatch them from this life as quickly and efficiently as possible.

"Enhanced interrogation" is just interrogation. They are calibrating the finger pressure used when you squeeze the guys face and make him look at you. The worst we do to him leaves him no worse for wear when its time for dinner. Torture is a very real thing, and its what happens when the terrorists get ahold of an American. I'm sure you can surf the net and find the film, they aren't shy about it.
