Girl's arm severely injured in pit bull attack, police say
A six-year-old girl suffered a severe injury to her left arm Wednesday evening in La Vista after being attacked by a pit bull, according to Robert Lausten, the city's chief of police.
The girl will need the services of a plastic surgeon, Lausten said via e-mail.
A 36-year-old man was cited in connection with the incident. The Nebraska Humane Society siezed the dog.

There’s one rational use for pit bulls in the world and that is hog hunting, and that does not go on or should not go on in urban or suburban areas. I can’t believe anybody would ever wait for a pit bull to maul some child before getting rid of it, if/when some ******* neighbor brings one into an urban or suburban neighborhood.
TANKS,Chet,,,
Prayers Up for the little one,,,
I wonder who will pay her bill...
Using your rational,i have 2 huskies who are not hauling sleighs across the tundra,but are living comfortably with 4 cats ,and 1 baby in CA..
It is not the dogs fault it is the people who are raising them..
Think Michael Vick...
Another reason to always carry a pistol.
Yes it is the dog’s fault. When’s the last time you heard of a cocker spaniel doing something like this.
Or a yorkie.............
Be careful yorkie, it’s dangerous for you on this thread, snicker! You ankle biter, you!!
I went to so many Pit Bull threads and finally stopped. They will love their dogs until they attack them and we’ll never know because they won’t tell.
Heading off yorkie, thanks for the ping.
Tonight, I took my little (6 lb.) yorkie out into my yard to potty - (and my place is totally fenced) .......
all of a sudden - there were two BIG dogs in my yard - one a pit/mix. I immediately grabbed my little furry kid, and put (threw) her in the house. I squirted the ‘intruders’ - no luck. I tried to ‘befriend’ them - no luck. I was just glad my little one was safe and sound.........(as I have heard rumors that there are 30 ‘feral’ dogs in a pack - running loose around here!)
Or a yorkie.............
~~~
Ain’t that the truth,,,
All the folks that used to walk their little dawgs by here
now won’t come within a block of here,,,
I stopped and talked to one guy some weeks ago(yorkie owner)
about this pit-bull problem,,,
I asked him “Do you carry?”,,,
“Yes”,,,smiled and opened his jacket,,,”A .45 .”,,,
I only walk Harley out back now,,,
Open carry my .44,,,
Just a matter of time before one comes over the fence,,,
Again,,,(couldn’t see to shoot),,,
We go out with a spotlight now,,,gun in hand...
Yorkie, I wrote you in Freepmail about your frightening experience.
Those dogs would attack you to get to your dog and one bite would do it as they don’t let go.
Wish we had access to ‘stun guns’, don’t know if “pepper spray” would stop them or not.
I have three daughters and years ago I gave them each a ‘key chain’ pepper spray for protection. One had hers taken away when she made a plane flight.
If those dogs come around even without your yorkie being outside, I would spray them with pepper spray and ‘maybe’ they wouldn’t come back so quickly.
Good luck and be careful.
Good idea, Potlatch. I have some of those little canisters of pepper spray - they will go with me when I walk my little furry kid, from now on.
Thank you!
