Seven individuals were arrested for running a prostitution ring that advertised on Craigslist, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday. The online classified-ads site has drawn attention from law-enforcement agencies, especially after a woman was attacked and another killed by what authorities call the Craigslist killer. The arrests of Scott Rosenberg, 45, and Josef Davenport, 31, who are accused of owning a prostitution ring in Queens, N.Y., known as Room Service Entertainment.
They allegedly advertised in the since-discontinued "erotic services" section of Craigslist. "Until Craigslist gets serious about putting real protections in place, it will continue to be an environment where criminal operations thrive with impunity," Cuomo said.
"Even after so-called reforms of the Web site last fall, this prostitution ring easily gamed the system and allegedly used Craigslist to spread its illegal operation throughout all five boroughs and beyond." He added that the arrests underscore the risks posed by Craigslist.

I can see it now.. Regulate the net.. Do it for the “Childrun”..
“The online classified-ads site has drawn attention from law-enforcement agencies, especially after a woman was attacked and another killed by what authorities call the Craigslist killer.”
I don’t really understand the media’s obsession with the Craigslist angle. It’s as if psychopaths never killed prostitutes before they had the internet. Granted, these boards do make the lives of rapists/stalkers/serial killers/pedophiles easier, and thirty seconds on facebook/myspace/craigslist will tell you all you need to know about the opportunities for those with evil in their hearts.
Still, I wonder why this particular story is all about the internet. This guy could just as easily have picked girls at random. You can clear craigslist of oscenity, heck, you an shut the internet down altogether, and this guy probably would have (allegedly) killed anyway.
.......I dont really understand the medias obsession with the Craigslist angle......
Craigs list has killed the newspapers by offering free classified ads. Craigs list must in the best liberal style, be destroyed
Craigslist killed the newspapers that’s why statist, power-hungry attorneys are targeting it. Of course, there are dozens of other websites that offer match-making or meeting services, which is just prostitution under the facade of dating.

It was just a matter of time.
