I haven't read any N.T. Wright but he has been recommended by some VERY intelligent friends.
From what I've heard, I must concur.

He writes in a way that is easily understood, even the more sophisticated theology is made very clear to the readers.
He also trashes heresy in a way that is frequently funny and witty. I highly recommend him for everyone.
A very good, entertaining and edifying read.
