So I guess the SEC should get a billboard in Columbus now?

P.S. the Ducks also have a timeshare at Big House, having planted a Statue of Liberty, a Fake Statue of Liberty, three long bombs, and a sledgehammer of a 32 point win there on September 11, 2007.

It’s stupid. And I say that as an Ohio State alum. As long as we keep patting ourselves on the back for beating a not-very-good Michigan team, we’re going to continue to be a 2nd tier team. Wake me up when we beat someone out-of-conference.

That's the University of Florida at Columbus.

App State Alum here.

I wore my App State shirt on the day of the App-Michigan game to the ESPN Gameday at Virginia Tech for the first football game after the 2007 tragedy. Even the ESPN guys were pointing at me and shaking their heads. “Dude, App State is going to get creamed”. It turns out that VT played terribly and my Mountaineers shocked the world.

That’s a pretty stupid remark. You never met Woody. I have several times. For his whole life, to be “remembered” by those who never knew him and the way he treated people other than that 30 seconds i the 78 Gator Bowl is a shame.

My Dad went to Michigan and as I kid I was a Michigan fan and hated OSU with a passion. Then he was the enemy, but the more I learned about Woody, the more I really admired what he was. And I feel the same as I do about his one-time student, Bobby Knight. Yes, they had their flaws, but they built men. And these types are sorely lacking today in this country.

THank you. Pretty cool comment. And I really appreciate that after the way I saw your other postings where you dogged OSU against the SEC. (grin)

LMAO
I knew Jim’s Dad, Lee back in Cleveland in the Baldwin-Wallace days, he was a class act and Jim continues the tradition.

And Woody Hayes served as the inspiration for Urban Meyer. In fact Urban has a huge portrait of Woody in his home.

My wife is a distant relative and shortly after Jim was hired on to coach tOSU, he attended our family reunion.

My dog is named Buckeye and I even got pictures that day.

For you and tang soo:

If you thought you understood anything about the man, you would understand my comment. Have you never heard how he used to speak? Really get the over-the-top rivalry that goes back to The Great Black Swamp?

Geez you guys, it was a compliment.

Yeah, you're right, he used to build up men. And talked the way the Eastwood character in Gran Torino talked to his friends, but Woody to his boys.

Patton on a gridiron.

My comment is a mild comment compared to what I heard about Bo.

So he still burns in F' ing Hell!!!

Yes, it sounds like Woody was a real sweet guy. /sarcasm

Sounds like a typical bully and thug.

That’s cute. You if you log onto the Columbis Dispatch sports section they’ve had a spot on their page where they count how many days it’s been since Michigan beat Ohio State. I sure some one will chime in and ask when was the last time Ohio State beat and SEC team. For the record I believe it was LSU in 1988.

I met Woody Hayes once and got his autograph on a napkin. Still have it. Somewhere.
