Jordan finished his career with the Washington Wizards. He hardly went out a winner.
Not sure Michael Jordan is the best example. Didn't he come back and play a year or two with the Washington Wizards? Had a good game about one out of four.

...he’s already pathetic. I used to really admire Brett. He has now become the poster boy for the spoiled athlete who has had his ass kissed for so long, that he just cannot give it up. Just go away while you still have your health.
When Rickey Henderson was 46 years old he was playing for a team called the San Diego Surf Dawgs (below “A” level in minor league baseball), hoping for another chance at playing in the major leagues. Fortunately for him, that didn’t count against his five years of waiting to be eligible for the Hall of Fame voting. I don’t think professional football has anything equivalent to the Surf Dawgs.
