Great job for a horse that only cost $9500.

When he got the lead, the track announcer didn’t even know his name.

After seeing the horse win, then looking back at his past performances, I still can’t like him or believe he won.

All the breeding in the world doesn't instill the "want" to win. Mine That Bird wanted to win......;)

What race was that? It isn’t today’s.

Sorry, the pic I posted was from some other race today. However, the link does go to a video of today’s Derby.

Well, he won, as we all now know. What a great race. I love his jockey. What a show he put on, almost as good as the race! Hooray for underdogs.

So do I. He touches me somehow. I sense he had a hard life and probably very poor as a youngster. It makes me feel great to see him win again.

I noticed it because he wasn’t dirty enough in that pic to have come from WAY behind on a track like today’s Derby.

Also glad to say I was yelling ‘who is that coming up on the inside’ ? WAY before the caller, who was still focused on the leaders.

Pretty amazing. He was one of the first colts I threw out. Oh well. Lots of races tomorrow. :-)
