Darrell Milsap, who lives on Pennsylvania Avenue, told a Post-Dispatch photographer that he saw it all. He said a man was walking his dog on the street when another dog approached his dog and began to sniff it. The man then pulled out a gun and shot the other dog."That's just what dogs do, they sniff each other," said Milsap.

An unleashed dog vs a leashed dog is actually a toxic combination. The leashed dog may feel threatened (because it is restrained) and growl/bark, whatever, and the pit bull will respond like a pit bull would respond.

Pit bulls on the loose, to me are like rattlesnakes....they get shot on the spot. If the owner has a problem with it, then maybe he should have it fenced or on a leash like my dogs. I understand that, unlike a weapon, dogs have a mind of their own and can “go off”. I take responsibility for my potentially dangerous dogs and other people should to.
