A “majority” of the people were wrong then, and a “majority” of the people are wrong now.
To my way of thinking now, there are several major threats or problems in the world right now.
Islamofascism, Muslims, Islam.
Obama.
Naivete.
Democrats.
PC baloney.
Multiculturalism as equal to Western civilization.
Leftism in all it’s forms.
Most college professors and the leftwing hegemony over the educational system.
Idiots in Hollywood and the so called “main stream media”.
Useful idiots everywhere.
The passive, ignorant, do nothings.
It could be a much longer list.
Much of that list boils down to either Islamic Supremacist imperialism (and make no mistake, that is what Islamic theocratic rule is and all muslims are bowing to the Islamic capital 5 times a day every day) or Socialism.
Political Correctness is the acceptance of Socialist dogma. No debate. No dissent. The issues have been settled by damned intellectuals. You can read up on these issues and “arguments” for the politically correct conclusion, but do not try to debate against the issues. If you do, you will be branded politically incorrect. Not a 100% fellow traveller. You can be blacklisted.
Which brings us to academic bias. Guess where the damned intellectuals find employment, speaking engagements, and indoctrinate the next generation?
And then there is the Pravda Media, which serves the New Democrat Party (the one that came to power in 1968 to slowly take over the party of Jefferson). The radicals who rioted in the streets and inside the convention in 1968 became the anchors on the nightly news, the editors of newspapers, and elected members of Congress. They rose to the the top of the party.
Guess where Obama fits?

Sobering polling data, HomerJ.
This majorities change quickly and the most popular office holders often change with the majorities. Rarely do such office holders lead, but quickly do they change.
