About the pit bull threads...
Okay, I am going to ease off on the pit bull threads. The Admin Moderator has not asked me to, nor have I been threatened with banishment. Nor am I persuaded by the threads devoted to bashing me for posting these stories.
I am just frankly getting tired of it myself. These attacks are basically unending, and it will only get much worse as school is out for Summer, and kids are around more, the temperatures rising, and what have you.
I will certainly still post these from time to time, or maybe I'll do one post that summarizes the day's worth of pit bull attacks, or post only once every few days when another child has not just been mauled but killed as well, but ignore the garden variety attacks. I just didn't want anyone to think that either (a) The mods pressured me to stop or ease off (they have not) or (b) The posts have slowed because the Pit Bulls have suddenly become as docile as their owners say they are.
Flame away as they say.

Comparing a Pit Bull, which is bred to kill, to an inanimate object, a firearm, which is controlled by a human being is totally ridiculous.
Any dog can turn on a person, nomatter how kindly or gently it has been treated. They are animals. Ask your local Vet.

I agree completely. German Shepherds are wonderful dogs, but they are still dogs. I, too, am a dog lover, and I would never ever leave a dog alone with a small child.

I’d suggest you make sure the renter’s landlord and the landlord’s insurance company is aware of the renter’s new dog. If either of those parties is not already aware and approving, the problem may well be taken care of for you. Also, if you can get close enough, check for a rabies tag. If there isn’t one, the dog probably isn’t vaccinated, and animal control authorities will be interested.

Sorry!
I tried that!
The renter listed the pitbull as a terrier, which is technically correct, pitbull terrier!
He wouldn’t do squat!
Fortunately, all his room mates left him high and dry before I could get my revenge!
He’s gone!

Haggis is a Scottish culinary “delicacy” involving lamb’s lungs and intestine and barley that I don’t really think you want to know more about ... remember this is a country that currently deep-fries Snickers bars as treats ... suffice it to say that at Highland games, there is generally a haggis toss for good reason! ;^)

Please avoid doing that. Others might want to post some of those articles individually. Thank you, though, for posting the crime news articles so far, even if they are only allowed as "pets" posts here.
IMO, another site is needed for further exposing pit bull attacks and for exposing sites that support the maulings and murders of children by discouraging the news posts.

Sorry your cutting back on the news...It continues to raise awareness of the breed and the viciousness they are prone to...But I respect your decision. I can imagine the crap you have to take from fanatics.

Dog Bite Law
Attorney Kenneth Phillips "
A non-commercial web site,..."
[Excerpts:]
The dog bite epidemic: a primer
"
an unusually detailed study of dog bites from 1982 to the present. (Clifton, Dog attack deaths and maimings, U.S. & Canada, September 1982 to November 13, 2006; click here to read it.)"
"
...pit bulls, Rottweilers, Presa Canarios and their mixes are responsible for 74% of attacks that were included in the study, 68% of the attacks upon children, 82% of the attacks upon adults, 65% of the deaths, and 68% of the maimings. In more than two-thirds of the cases included in the study, the life-threatening or fatal attack was apparently the first known dangerous behavior by the animal in question."
