What are they kept for . . . like half and hour? LOL.
5 thou a month for something that cost the former NY gov 2 thou an hour is a pretty good deal.
I heard about this a long time ago. Nothing new. Women have always been a “commodity” for which men will pay. I’m not going to make a point here of the immorality of it all - certainly it goes against my Christian beliefs about the sanctity of marriage and so on, but let’s face it, it is not a secret that many, many women marry men, date men, and become mistresses to men for the security (i.e. material possessions) that they bring to the equation.
What a dolt.
Oh, and almost forgot, this article reminded me of the old joke where the beautiful woman is sitting at the bar and a handsome man approaches her and asks her if she will sleep with him if he pays her $1 million and she agrees; so then he says, well, I think I’d like to pay you $500 if you’ll sleep with me and she says, “What do you think I am?” and he says, “We have already established what you are, now we’re just negotiating price.”

Nah, d!ckweed, it’s you she wants. In fact, the money is probably a turnoff to “Lola”.
Give me a break.
It would be nice not to have the money involved, because you always wonder: Would she still want to be with me even without the money?”
No. She is a whore, and you are her customer. Whores do not love or even like their customers.
There are many reasons for mistresses to exist, some being less obvious.
To start with, of course, is money, but even this is multifaceted. Some women realize that they can neither live at an acceptable level of prosperity on their own, nor are “high value” marriage prospects. And of course, many have personal problems as well.
In turn, even though men may be prosperous, they might be equally undesirable as marriage prospects for any number of reasons.
A real problem is with the social system in which they live. Men from wealthy families are often compelled to marry women from other wealthy families, even today. The famous “runaway bride” scandal was a case like this. Since the marriages are not for love, mistresses and affairs are accepted as part of the deal.
Another reason is both sexless and unbalanced sexual desire marriage. It is not uncommon for many women to lose interest in sex entirely after a time, but this can be very hard on a husband with a strong libido. It works both ways as well.
All told, it is better for a society if mistresses are unwanted, either for women or men. But this is the exception instead of the rule in history.

I recently saw a quote (been looking for it in vain) that went something like this: If something is wrong, doing it more efficiently doesn't make it right. Of course, there have always been women who sell themselves for money, and men who will buy (or rent) women for their own selfish pleasure, all with no "strings" - commitments.
The argument that "well, people are going to do it anyway so let's legalize, subsidize it, authorize it and advertise it" is just an excuse for people to avoid feeling guilty.
And if someone says "Well, I don't do (A, B or C) but people should be allowed to if they want, even if I think it is wrong" - often have other vices that they feel better about, if this particular vice is taken of the "vice" list.
The word and concept "vice" is sooo old fashioned.
I am so confused...
Does that get put on a W2 form or a 1099-MISC form? Are FICA and medicare withheld by the "daddy", or are they the responsibility of the "baby"?
Nope.
Does the money make me more attractive than I really am?
