Former astronaut: Man not alone in universe
cnn ^ | April 20 2009

Earth Day may fall later this week, but as far as former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell and other UFO enthusiasts are concerned, the real story is happening elsewhere. Mitchell, who was part of the 1971 Apollo 14 moon mission, asserted Monday that extraterrestrial life exists, and that the truth is being concealed by the U.S. and other governments. He delivered his remarks during an appearance at the National Press Club following the conclusion of the fifth annual X-Conference, a meeting of UFO activists and researchers studying the possibility of alien life forms. Mankind has long wondered if we're "alone in the universe. [But] only in our period do we really have evidence. No, we're not alone," Mitchell said. "Our destiny, in my opinion, and we might as well get started with it, is [to] become a part of the planetary community. ... We should be ready to reach out beyond our planet and beyond our solar system to find out what is really going on out there." Mitchell grew up in Roswell, New Mexico, which some UFO believers maintain was the site of a UFO crash in 1947. He said residents of his hometown "had been hushed and told not to talk about their experience by military authorities." They had been warned of "dire consequences" if they did so.

I appreciate the concern, but I’m alright, pretty much. There’s no real driving to speak of now, because he’s in really bad shape nowadays, barely eating, talking out of his head, etc. I’m already back to driving when need be, and even walked a quarter mile Saturday, though slowly. (There’s a park across the road with a walking track).

The cussedness is incurable. But y’all wouldn’t know what to do with me otherwise, right? :) And anyway, who wants to have a lobotomy by choice, except a leftist?

Ah...you are talking Faith, not Science. I shan’t try to dissuade you from your thoughts on this. You believe in it, you are welcome to it. Items of faith require no proof.

But, don’t try to pass it off as science, for there isn’t any.
Items of science require scientific proof.

LOL!

I see in the mind’s eye a (horrific) interplanetary NATO meeting.
And the human delegation is mistaken for snacks.

I disagree.

I think you are much more into faith on the issues of the topic than I am.

Your criteria for believability . . . have latched onto the

RELIGION OF SCIENTISM as the ONLY ADEQUATE, EFFECTIVE, ACCURATE ARBITER OF TRUTH.

You seem to be blind to many aspects of that system and set of criteria which set you up to be UNABLE TO SEE truth, much less be able to analyze it accurately, fittingly.

There are many aspects, contexts, structures, systems in life and reality wherein hyper-objectivism OBSCURES reality and truth instead of apprehends and observes it accurately.

FAITH in HYPER-OBJECTIVISM obscures the facts of and the reality of and the dimensions and robustness of intimate love between a devoted husband and wife. DISSECTION is NOT the route of choice to truth about such a construct and reality. DISSECTION destroys the reality as well as is blind to it.

The GREEK route to truth that the RELIGION OF SCIENTISM arose out of and is still part of—is like that.

It is a useful system about some things—to a point.

However, even in a tailor-made hyper-obectivist topic like PHYSICS—quantum realities upset the hyper-objectist’s criteria and orthodoxy. Things are NOT objectively as they seem. Things are NOT precisely a lot of things as the dogma would normally dictate.

Similarly, hyper-objectivism trying to apprehend truth about UFO related realities is grappling with a complexity, realities, subtleties etc. which it is just ill-suited to make functional, fitting, productive use of. It CANNOT thoroughly apprehend nor analyze the evidence usefully. It is toooooo hogtied by it’s own REALITY OBSCURING strictures, dogma etc.

Literally, it has insufficient faith—even in it’s own system to foster a robust understanding of the true realities, the true truth.

Powerful fleet and horrific amounts of firepower.
Or just launch a few Dems at them, they’ll get the message.

Oh no, now we have to ‘work with’ an extraterrestrial NATO???

The ammunition and equipment standardization process should be interesting. We might be getting a significant upgrade. :-)

Yeah, I want one of those little tiny guns that Will Smith had in MIB II! It blew the he** out of everything and looked easily concealable.

Edgar Mitchell has been saying this for several years. It isn’t news.

Right, this is old news. It WOULD be interesting if other astronauts felt the same, and had information to back up such claims. My guess is that most astronauts are somewhat embarrassed by Mitchell, but don't say anything out of respect for a fellow astronaut.

Thats not to say that Mitchell isn't right, he may be, but for the media to continue bringing up his name as a UFO "advocate", lets just say its getting quite old.

What's sad and laughable is this:

He’s also either consciously or deludedly deluded by the oligarchy and the critters in terms of the globalist agenda.

However his research and sharp analysis and reasoning are top flight in the field.

If he cannot see through the phony GW and globalist b.s., how the heck can an open-minded person assume that his research/analysis will be accurate? One cannot, his analysis will be as accurate as his AGENDA will allow.

Certainly the agenda of the globalists will moderate, conform, limit, cloud, contaminate, pollute, etc. his assumptions and conclusions about the rest of the ET stuff.

However, men particularly are great at compartmentalizing.

Such contaminations do not automatically cloud his thinking on say optics of a photo situation; specifics of propulsion technologies etc.

They contaminate more his assumptions and analysis about things like “ET” motives, goals, strategies, etc.

Labeling something faith . . . that isn’t normally considered faith . . . is an interesting . . . construction on reality.
