A permanent mandate makes not the ruler permanent. The home hating stray dog is whining for a permanent world imperios home.
True. Will 0 declare marshal law if Dodd isn’t given millions by Wall Street to run for re-election?
Next they’ll remove the batteries from smoke detectors in the Reichstag.
and if alsheimers would have reared its ugly head during his 3rd term, he would have been so vilified by the left as to wipe out all the good he did in the first 2 terms.
better the way it wound up, with RINO Bush 41. It kept Ronaldus Magnus’s legacy clean.
The same bill has been introduced in every Congress for the past 20+ years. It has never made it out of committee. And even if it did, it has the hurdle of passing 3/4 of the states. In other words, ain’t happening, so stop worrying.
A 2/3rds majority? Three fourths of the states? Don’t be naive. That’s the OLD way. In order to do it the NEW way, Hussein has to agree, Pelosi has to say it’s OK with her and the MSM reports that anyone speaking against it is a dirty, stinking racist, guilty of a hate crime. These days we no longer need all of that icky, complicated Constitution stuff!
Also denied us a third term for Bill Clinton.
Let us see how that goes with the EU or Russia. They have rejected Turkey and Obama is bowing to the Saudis. So, obviously, he is no messiah, he is just a village idiot from Kenya fooling Americans and at the boot of the fascist powers of the world, just like when in Kenya when his tribe got sold by muslims and was forced to conversion (for there is a difference between a dhimmit forced convert and a self convert in Islam, as some pigs are more equal there).
That’s one that I’m willing to live with though, and I doubt Reagan would have run for a 3 term. Remember, FDR was the ONLY president to run for a 3rd term. Everyone else honored the aged tradition of Washington and retired.
No, first of all there would have been no President Clinton if RR had a third term.
And if Clinton had been elected, he would have actually been impeached on fears that he would win a third term in 2000.
It was introduced by a Democrat even when Bush was in office. It’s been introduced by this same Democrat since 1997.
Um, NO! Not only NO, but HELL NO!
No way this will happen. But that it’s being tried is freaking scary, isn’t it?
It was actually proposed even before Dumbo was inaugurated.
Ronnie was likely in the early stages of Alzheimer’s Disease by 1988. We would have gotten Bush The Elder as POTUS anyway, but with a lot of unnecessary commotion. (Assuming that Dukakis would have been as easily exposed as he was).
We need term limits across the board and these fools want to get rid of them. I know, voting them out is supposed to be the limit, but look at the incumbents getting in again, and it ain’t working.
“Dont they have more important issues to address????”
How about repealing the 16th amendment? I’d be all for that.
President Reagan was strong and sharp in 1988, stronger and sharper than anyone that we have had since then.
At least I correctly concluded that the author of the legislation is in the crack-pot category. I REALLY didn’t expect it to turn out to be the very same crack-pot every single year, though!
;^)
The Constitution must be followed and enforced. The provision for the President to be "natural born" is still in place, but apparently is being ignored. The Tenth Amendment has not been observed since Lincoln. The provision that prevents a member of Congress from moving to the Cabinet didn't stop Hildabeast.
