Watched Caprica. Wasn’t too impressed.
I read that FOX may pull another stunt with Dollhouse — drop the series before the final episode(s) are shown.
FOX is bad about doing that with their series.
The CW execs have indicated they may try to pick up Chuck, if NBC cancels it. NBC is having to drop some programming to make room for Leno.

Adam (not Alec) Baldwin plays a good guy agent whose hero is Ronald Reagan.
The first few episodes took some getting in to the program. But it has gotten better.

I like Adam Baldwin. I’ll give the show a view. Thanks for the tip.

It’s not scifi, but it is a good show. Think spies with a regular Joe being involuntarily recruited for James Bond duties.
Great cast, interesting back stories, interesting characters. Unfortunately, I’ve heard rumors it will not be renewed.

There are elemnts of supernatural events in the story line.
One, is near the beginning, everyone sort of rolls their eyes, when the King talks about how when he was “selected bt God” “Butterflies surrounded him,and landed on him, like a halo..Everyone acts like it’s just rhetoric that the King is schmoozing people with. a few episodes later, the King is watching our erstwhile young hero soldier, talking to his daughter, out on the lawn. when the daughter goes back to the house...as the king watches, butterflies begin to gather round the young capitains head, just as the King descibed happened to him, wwhen he “was chosen” to become King...very sci-Fi, very Shakespearian...The king seeing his successor...

Does it seem like there have been no good time travel movies lately? Especially ones with interesting paradoxes?

Chuck is one of the few recent shows that captures the feel of action shows with comedy from the 1980s. The acting is great, too, not to mention the picture of Ronald Reagan that Adam Baldwin's character has. There are also a lot of science fiction, comic book, and so on fandom references in the show. I also really enjoy the music. It's my favorite show on television right now, with the possible exception of the new Doctor Who.
The WB has part of the first season (and more to come) up online here. The later episodes from the second season are on NBC here and on Hulu here. Give it a few episodes if you have mixed feelings about it. They do a really good job of developing the three elements of Chucks life -- the spy stuff, the store where he works stuff, and his home life.
