Again, I asked people to forgive the use of a common term, I'm rather portly myself (and so is my lady) we are quite enthused with her, and wish her well in what is to come.

This one by London is sing songy but doesn’t even begin to have the heart that Susan’s does. No comparison.

Hopefully, she won’t even come to Hollywood. She wants to be a singer, I would bet that some rmusic producer in England is interested in her now. And since she’s not aiming for the ‘pop tart’ genre, the looks aren’t as important. I hope she makes good on her dream, that something comes of this for her just like it did for Paul Potts.

Julie London is good, but there’s something about Susan’s voice that adds to the song. My vote goes for Susan’s rendition, no question about it!
Go Susan!

The ONLY version of Cry Me A River worth anything is by Joe Cocker. Is there a you tube for comparisons sake?

I doubt he’d be anyone’s choice for a kiss anyway.

I mentioned this on another thread, but I think Susan and Newt Gingrich are long-lost cousins. Newt is of Scottish descent. To me, the resemblance is amazing.
To: Swede Girl
Yeah, but Newt can’t sing like this Angel! ... ‘Course, Susan may not be able to write novels like Newt can, so maybe they’re even.

I don't remember that one---but it makes me homesick for Houston and that period in time.
There was a good singer at an underground bar in Old Market Square. She and her husband owned it and I think she was German. Renee or something. She was good.

I saw him too, back in the 70’s. For all of about maybe 5 songs. He kept stopping in mid-song, running behind an amplifier and throwing up! He was so drunk either he or someone stopped his performance after the 5th song or so.
I can’t remember if this was at the ZZ Top concert in Memorial Stadium in Austin in ‘74 or if it was at the Rolling Stones concert in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas in ‘75. (they tend to run together now!)

I would suggest a copy of Mad Dogs and Englishmen (including Leon Russel and the Delta Lady, Rita Coolidge!)

The standards for eternal youth and impossible beauty is not generally obtainable for mere mortals. Normal is good. I don’t have any quarrel with reasonable grooming, but overkill is silly.

Shes already a swan.
She has been 'known' for 3 days and already has 2 world-wide hits (based on the youtube views): Cry Me a River and I Dreamed the Dream.
