But how would you go about seperating? A statewide vote?
How would you get something like that on the ballot?

Step 1 would be a commission to study the concept and figure out the details.

Step 2 would be statewide vote, similar to a constitutional amendment...no big deal.

Step 3 (assuming the vote passed), would be to begin negotiations.

Step 4 (hopefully) will be a peaceful separation. Texas gets its independence as an independent country, and the remaining US gets rid of their largest red state and gets to implement the European model essentially without opposition.

The technical procedure would be a vote with the current state Government staying intact for interim service, with new elections after whatever constitutional convention took place. If smaller states were to try this, they would be well advise to do so with other neighboring states as a region.

I have already contacted Perry, state Senator and State representative to get the ball rolling.

People need to get theuir voices heard on this.

No use in getting ahold of our US Senators Cornyn or Hutchison.

Both have drunk the DC tea and have been polluted.
