WASHINGTON — Former Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska turned down a plea offer from federal prosecutors that would have spared him a trial and jail time but required him to plead guilty to a single felony count, according to newly disclosed records.

Didn’t Stevens push to get this into court before the election? Confidant that he would prevail?

Having watched Ollie North and Scooter Libby go through trials in that same court, I don’t know that I’d have taken my change that ‘justice would be served.’

A DC jury is never going to find for a white conservative Republican (or any combo thereof). Thankfully, Judge Sullivan took control and the DOJ prosecutors will face their own justice.

I'll believe they'll be facing their own 'justice' when I see them frog marched out of their plush offices and into waiting federal Crown Victoria sedans.
