Windstorms in Atlanta, Georgia, uprooted several trees, including this one that fell through John Kiefer's home.

Wow! Sometimes fortune shines on us.

A week ago my daughter borrowed my Lincoln Town Car and while it was gone a large limb from my hundred year old Live Oak tree fell right where I keep it parked!

Could have been a more expensive event. Yeah, the wood will get used.

Heading off now.

If a tree falls on a man’s house and he’s the only one to hear it does his insurance still cover it?

At Berry College (In Rome GA) we had a large, large Oak fall over last nigh near a chapel. Luckly it didn’t hit anything, but it just goes to show how powerful these storms have been around her the last couple of nights

Wow, that’s a sharp cut! Maybe he should have had more structure in the house to spread the load out more.

We had a large cottonwood tree fall on our mobile home in Valdez years ago. If hubby hadn’t built in a solid “room divider” some months earlier, the tree would have landed right on his head as he lay on the sofa. Somewhere in my mishmosh, I still have pictures of the damage. Cottonwoods in the area are notorious for rotting from the inside and falling over without apparent cause.

This large cottonwood failed because of root rot. The light tan areas above are where the large roots have broken apart. The large roots had advanced stages of decay. Smaller roots, the rope like structures shown above, could not support the mass of the tree. Decay in the root system is rarely visible

I had an old Mustang and during a storm I was going to move it, as I walked outside
I could see the bottom of a tornado and went back inside. A tree fell where I was going to move it.
I forgot about that till you said something.
