A former engineer at the top secret airfield "Area 51" in Nevada has spoken out about UFO sightings in the region in the 1960s, saying the witnessed flashes of light were part of top secret US aircraft experiments.
In an interview with ABC News, Thornton "T.D." Barnes, 72, a former special-projects engineer at Area 51 said: "No one really knew we existed. Even our wives didn't know where we were going when we left Monday morning and came back Friday evening."
Barnes was an electronics engineer for NASA who also specialised in advance radar and Soviet MiG fighter aircraft and was asked to join a team of CIA experts who would work on secret military projects at the infamous base.
UFO folklore has it that Area 51, about 80 miles north northwest of Las Vegas, is where captured aliens and their spacecraft have been stored by the US military. The conspiracy theory comes in part because of the preponderance of strange, unaccounted for lights that have been seen in the region of the top secret military base.
However Barnes poured cold water on the theory saying the "alien spaceships" were in fact light flashes from top secret spy planes being flown at 2,000 miles per hour at altitudes of 90,000 feet.
The experimental planes produced light flashes that some interpreted as alien spaceships and this was considered helpful by the team in covering their activities.
"We considered it to be a bonus," said Barnes. "They made it easier to conceal what we were doing."
However some ufologists have said the area has only been partly declassified and UFO work at the base may well have carried out though in a region unknown to engineers such as Barnes.
"Those guys who came forward may very well be telling the truth, with the caveat that they wouldn't know if there was something going on," said Stanton T. Friedman, a nuclear physicist, lecturer and top UFO researcher.
Friedman added that evidence coming out of places such as Area 51 proved how much was going on in the country without peoples' knowledge.
"National security has a real place in all of this stuff. There is no way to tell your friends without telling your enemies," he said. "A lot of Americans woke up to the fact that there's a lot going on that they don't get told about."
Razorboy,,
If you believe in GOD then you would believe that GOD threw Satan and his Angels which were a 1/3 quite a bit...
out of Heaven, since they were thrown to the earth and dwell among us what do you think they would be called?
They are Aliens..They are Alien to this planet they are Alien to GOD they are not part of his Kingdom....
They are the demons we know here to perpetuate a Deception on Mankind.
A nap is calling my name quite convincingly.
Blessings,
The wave/ particle thing isn’t just a visual trick, it’s a serious reality questioning piece of weirdness if you’re bored and don’t mind getting a headache:

Now as for your plane. That kind of stuff happens a lot. Light hits at a weird angle, people watching don’t realize where they are in relation to local flight paths, people don’t realize how bad your depth perception gets at long distance especially without intermediate object. I live in an Air Force town, there’s always something up there, and sometimes it looks a little odd. Usually I’m more concerned when they’re in the wrong place, especially since 9-11 “why is a plane there” has become the biggest concern when looking in the sky.
Sweet Dreams!
;)
I do believe you march to the beat of a different drummer.
That has NOT been new information for more than 60 years.
I’ve checked out what they’ve said. It’s usually pretty vague, they see a lot of “something”. And unfortunately they don’t bring back proof. A couple of guys, even a couple of guys like Neil and Buzz aren’t proof just on their own, we need some stuff. Heck even other UFO people don’t believe Corso.
Thanks Dear Sis.
You have the Con.
[in a manner of speaking . . . . now for naysayers to make something cheeky of that! LOL]
That’s kind of been the whole topic of discussion for the last two days. Some folks saying aliens are really fallen angels and that their crashed or possibly not crashed vessels (”space ships” to keep it short) are the source of most of the technology that made the thing you’re sitting in front of possible.
Angels would definately not have traveled through space. Perhaps you don’t understand what an “angel” is?
See that first paragraph gap there, that’s where you need fact. We can take as a given God and Him chucking out Satan and his cronies. What we can’t take as a given is that they are aliens in UFOs. To get to there first we need to prove UFOs are something non-human/ natural in origin, then we need to prove these things have residents that are non-human/ terrestrial animal, then we gotta prove these non-human things are fallen angels.
Would they travel on a ship like device? A ship that crashed in NM? A ship that gave us the the basics for transistors and kevlar and lots of other cool post 1947 inventions?
I understand what an angel is. What I don’t understand is how they relate to a crash that might or might not have happened in the desert outside Roswell in 1947.
Could you be saying that because you know that its impossible? - Any stuff that any astronaut might find or capture would be the property of big brother, and not available to support their contentions.
It’s not impossible. All the astronauts have a few things they got to keep. And in theory there should be other proof from other “encounters”, I mean Quix states there’s 4000 scientifically verified landings, that should have made some stuff.
It makes sense to think that ancient man saw “aliens” and thought of them as gods.
It is always said in many different religions and texts that they will one day return.
The fallen angels in the bible were in fact the ‘bad aliens’ or reptellians and the good angels the ones who were surrounded in light were in fact the pleadians
But that still doesn’t put them in a craft of some sort they apparently can’t control over the New Mexico desert in 1947. Or any of the other various UFO sightings.
And I do believe in possibilities. I mean the math says there’s pretty much zero chance that we’ve got the only useful rock out there, and compared to the universe we’re pretty young, or heck they could even be angels. But I shave with Occam’s razor every day, and usually “de plane” winds up being the answer with the least assumptions.
