New horror novel. The first in a series. Available now at: www.xlibris.com/Lycanstein.html

copyrighted: Mark called Mickey on the two-way and asked him if they were having any luck. He reported that they had tracked the beast to a wood pile and were waiting for it to emerge. He then asked him if he would let them know the moment they made any progress. It wasn’t long before a pack of dogs had picked up the scent. They came running through the woods barking and tracked the scent straight to the wood pile. The four dogs ran around the pile trying to hone in on their prey. One got bold and went into the pile where the tracks led. He stuck his head into the pile and froze for a second. Only his tail and back legs were exposed. Then there was a loud commotion and the pile seemed to come to life. The curious dog was jerked into the pile with tremendous force; it disappeared letting out a horrifying scream. The entire wood pile shook violently. The other dogs stopped and stared. Then, the dogs head emerged from the brush. It was still crying and yelping loudly fighting to get out of the brush pile. Its head and neck were torn to shreds and covered in blood. Mickey and Jeff looked at each other with wide eyes. Then the dog was ripped back into the brush pile and after a few more blood curdling screams, the air went silent. A loud growl came from the pile and the last three dogs took off like a bolt of lightning. They did not even take time to look back for their friend.
