Wildlife officials will remove as many as 200 feral cats that prey on seabirds and other critters on San Nicolas Island. The project is expected to take as long as two years. It will involve using live traps, padded leg traps and tracking dogs to catch the non-native cats.
Jane Hendron, a spokeswoman for U.S. Fish & Wildlife office in Carlsbad, says healthy cats could go up for adoption, but those deemed sick will be euthanized.

(giggle!) That should work really well! If padded leg traps work against these “feral” cats, then they ain’t “feral” — just abandoned.
For real feral cats, shotguns work best. A .22 or .303 in a pinch. Feral cats are too smart for traps, too cunning to take poison bait, and too dangerous for humans to handle.
If you aren’t armed and you see a feral cat, better run: he wants you for tucker! He can’t kill you, but he doesn’t know that — and it won’t stop him trying hard. He’s at the top of his food chain and he knows it.
What a great practical joke for townies, tho’ — “hey townie, help me catch this kitty: he’s lost and needs to find his home... Here, kitty kitty kitty! Nice kitty!” LOL

Adopt a feral cat? That’s HILARIOUS!!! Might as well keep a pet cobra while you’re at it.
Send a pet feral cat to Obama. I’m sure he’d appreciate it!

If the feral cats are older than 3 months you will never domesticate them.
The best cat I ever had was a wild one I caught as a small kitten and raised and trained. But it was about 3 months when I caught it. After that...sorry...but it just will not domesticate.
