I am leaving Free Republic. After I post this message I will not come back and most likely ask the moderator to remove my account.
You may ask why. Today I posted a copy of a letter I received from an anti-terrorism officer in the United States Air Force. It was received through official channels but was not classified or top secret and I was granted permission to share it. It was an article concerning the possibility of a terrorist attack on American soil and it was pulled because, and I quote "Proven incorrect on snopes."
This is one time I am disagreeing with the moderator and his/her decision to pull the thread. This information was verified through official military channels and was supposed to help warn us to the imminent danger our country is in.
Instead, the moderator exercised, I felt, a lapse in judgment when he (or she) pulled the article that is in need of being disseminated. And this isn't the first time this has been done by moderators on Free Republic. While Free Republic has stood for conservative and GOP values it has also neglected it's responsibility to see that the information of the type I tried to share gets out. Instead they say it can't be verified and could be wild speculation (though I told them it was verified through official military channels) and pulled it even though I asked them not to.
So, I am saying goodbye. It was fun and I will treasure the friends I have made here on FR. Good luck to you all.

I may not agree with stuff that is deleted or allowed to stand (stay posted) but really it’s not that big of a deal. Then again, I haven’t been banned yet ;)
As for the Moderators, I’ve found them to be fair. Who the hell wants that job anyway?! I ain’t suckin’ up either. If I got banned, I’d be pissed for a bit but seriously, it’s a freakin message board. Can you (you in the general sense) imagine moderating this board? Or any board? It’s a thankless job for sure.
Heh, I do think there is an FR Royalty. Such is life. However, I have no doubt my view of the Royalty is different than yours or many others.
SNOPES has a leftist agenda and is run by a husband wife team who “surf the internet” to determine the veracity of stories.
They’re the LIBERAL LEFT deciding if anything that might taint their 0bamessiah is “unfounded” or “false.”
Anyone who uses SNOPES as the sole source for information (or Wiki for that matter) needs to know that SNOPES is very flawed.
Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. Verify, verify, verify and then document in hard copy.

They're doing a great job of that with the pirate standoff. Where's the Commander in Chief on this one? His dithering isn't helping our side much. I would say on the Official Embarrassment Meter, we're up to a 2 or 3 already. [Each day that goes by with nothing happening ratchets it up a half point.] Why can't the Navy just take care of it??? They know what to do, not the TOTUS. He wants to be ignored. Ok by me. US Navy rules!!
I don’t care what Snopes said, my Criminal Justice Professor is an ex-GBI agent and was trained by that man (in your email) for the Israeli team for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. I have talked about him all week.
Whether that threat was accurate or not, I don’t know. If that warning was from 2005, it’s obviously not imminent, but I don’t doubt the truth of the man in the email. I know him from reputation and he is as awesome as they say, no matter what Snopes want to say about him.
