I am leaving Free Republic. After I post this message I will not come back and most likely ask the moderator to remove my account.
You may ask why. Today I posted a copy of a letter I received from an anti-terrorism officer in the United States Air Force. It was received through official channels but was not classified or top secret and I was granted permission to share it. It was an article concerning the possibility of a terrorist attack on American soil and it was pulled because, and I quote "Proven incorrect on snopes."
This is one time I am disagreeing with the moderator and his/her decision to pull the thread. This information was verified through official military channels and was supposed to help warn us to the imminent danger our country is in.
Instead, the moderator exercised, I felt, a lapse in judgment when he (or she) pulled the article that is in need of being disseminated. And this isn't the first time this has been done by moderators on Free Republic. While Free Republic has stood for conservative and GOP values it has also neglected it's responsibility to see that the information of the type I tried to share gets out. Instead they say it can't be verified and could be wild speculation (though I told them it was verified through official military channels) and pulled it even though I asked them not to.
So, I am saying goodbye. It was fun and I will treasure the friends I have made here on FR. Good luck to you all.

Your post should be addressed to the responsible Mod.
If you re-read pctech’s post, you’ll see that the Moderator pulled it because it wasn’t up to snuff with Snopes, not because he used Snopes. At least that’s the way I read it.
IMHO, that’s equivalent (as you point out) to someone here defending 0 by quoting “facts” from our Ministry of Truth, say, the NYT or Washington Post.

Your post read as if you have been here 5 or 6 years, rather than 5 or 6 weeks. Which is why I asked. Rather than answer the question honestly, you go around your ass to reach your elbow to obliquely accuse me of being what--A Pretender? LMAO. Back it up.

Its not just the piracy thing, although that gets all the press. The two remaining members of the axis of evil have both arrested (and are still holding) US journalists since Obama was sworn in.
The timing of those arrests makes it look a lot like a test of our will. Our nonresponse tells the Islamists all they need to know about our willingness to stand up for ourselves.
Instead of all this whining why don’t you simply post the article as a comment and stick around for the fun?

See, I think the freaks (as I call them) of education are given much leeway, as they’re allowed to post whatever nonsense they want and are never deleted. Same with the Science threads, the obviously not “science” posts are allowed to stand while others are banned.
It’s all about where one is coming from, imo.
Again, as for the “education” articles, lmao, I agree with you but I’m sure for a different reason.
