I guess he really was cheap. C’mon, Benny and Burns didn’t want to pay the duty on the jewelry and tried to pull a fast one- which was kinda sleazy considering it was right before the war and everything.

I applaud his war efforts but, to me, it’s what people do when they don’t think they’re being watched. Again, what Benny, Burns and Jeb’s wife did was a cheesy move. According to the article, the judge was pretty aggravated and gave Benny a chance to explain himself. Benny only mumbled.
