It can’t last much longer, hang in there!
We don’t have those red cardinals here in California....but I’ll always remember having an outdoor lunch over in your neck of the woods (St. Augustine) and watching one bounce all around the area.
I’ve had close to 20 at a time in the yard. They get pretty tame.
Glad your weather has been nice. We’re back in the winter mode here in Central NY State.
Beautful shots!
Here in Maine, snow is still deep in some spots, bare lawn in others and mud EVERYWHERE!
*sigh*
Is that a Downey Woodpecker in your third photo?
Lovely! Any hummies yet? I’ve been watching them on the map.
Yes, with a Redpoll...That is the Downy in the 4th as well.
The following were taken moments ago...the Goldfinches are molting, halfway between their drab winter plumage and their bright summer plumage.
Thanks. All of your photos are nice. Both you and SwampSniper are excellent photographers.
Thanks, but I am just a pretender compared to SWAMPSNIPER. It is a hobby for me and birds are my favorite subjects.
Wow just wow!
Thanks, Swampy!
We could probably see the cardinals here too. IF everything wasn’t covered in yellow pine pollen! LOL I’ve never seen it this bad. You could actually see clouds of it blowing around this week. My driveway looks like the yellow brick road and my car...used to be burgandy.
Have you ever watched a male cardinal defend his territory from a rival.... who only appears in a mirror? We watched one fight furiously with the truck mirrors one day.
Nice pics. How do you like the new camera?
Spent 4 hrs sitting in the backyard trying to get pics of hummingbirds, have found out 2 Northern Mocking birds have decided to make a nest in the aloe vera plant which the hummers love to feed on the flowers.
So went to the store and bought a feeder, set it up added the sugar and water mix.Maybe in a couple of days they will find it..
Last of all i am sunburnt...
Hows that beans and rice diet going?
Now you made me change the desktop again!
Thanks!
Eventually I’ll find some faster lenses, the kit lenses are a little slow. I don’t see the A-200 so much as a better rig than my Panasonic FZ30, more as a tool with different purposes. I’ll be using both of them as the situations call for. The Panasonic is a “gunfighter”, go in fast, and shoot while the action is hot. The SONY is more refined, more precise, but takes more care and set up.
The build quality on the FZ30 is rugged, I think you could hammer tent stakes with it, the Sony will take more care. Both are good cameras.
The Panasonic is a gunfighter..
I am very happy with my FZ28,but if i drop it, it’s dead.
It is very light will not take any abuse,am not putting up a tent with it..
The FZ30 and FZ50 are big cameras physically, almost massive, compared to most of what is on the market. They are pretty rugged. The fixed lens, as opposed to a retracting lens, makes them almost dirt proof, not much to clog up. They are great outdoor rigs. Panasonic is evidently ending the series, it will be a shame.
