ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

I’m puzzled at the “school resource officer’s” involvement in something that took place at home.

(a) The kids found the dope at home and smoked it at home. The school only got involved because they smoked it before school rather than after, or on a non-school day. If they had been homeschoolers, nobody would have found out they smoked the weed until after mom and dad discovered their stash was missing. So homeschooling is great, but this article isn’t evidence for it.

(b) Children shouldn’t smoke pot. That said, this episode won’t do these kids any permanent damage. That said, if your kids are not old enough or responsible enough to obey when you tell them to stay out of your stash - or your liquor cabinet or gun rack - then keep it locked up.

(c) Yes, pot should be legal. You don’t ban things just because they’re not for children.
