Wind him up and set him loose.
Yeah, we’d do that.
I’m back. I decided to go while I was still in the mood, and I’m glad I did. I don’t want to go anywhere from now to Monday morning.
I’ve been making baby hats for the local hospital for the littlest babies. I have so much yarn, and there is a lot that is just enough for a little hat. If I can make 20 of them over the weekend, I’ll take them to donate on Monday.
Lucky and Janice the Valley Girl are getting along. She has shown him that she’s not going to be bullied, and he, in turn, has not tried to get out of the cage. He was so confined. I think he was put in a finch cage, and he was showing signs of being distressed.
I don’t understand why folks don’t read up on an amimal before they get it home. *sheesh* Anyway, he much better off here. They will all do much better in the flight cage.
I’m glad the new pet is happy! I was having a lie-down with Wednesday. She’s shedding!
Spring must be coming to NC. I hear you’re in for a “heat wave” of sorts. Have a good rest!
A couple of the Dwarves were using turtles as stones in their own variant of curling though...
That would work!
But what do they use for a rink?
It's also easier to freeze the top of the lake than it is the moat.
Ah. Good idea. I suspect Nessie wouldn’t be too pleased with intruders. No telling what she might do.
What do we use to freeze the top of the lake? Does it also make snow? Just axing...
Ah. You are SO SMART!!
No wonder I heart you! ;o]
No, it's not. All very rectangular is my experience of everything modern Scandinavian. But the Finnish seems cheerier than what I saw of the Danish and Norwegian modern -- maybe it's more use of color here.
And the buildings themselves from the interior... where it's not open (and maybe where it is) it seems to me to have a little bit of a "fortress" feel, as if to hold off the cold outside. I noticed that in the hotel earlier.
It's been interesting since I got here. Outside it's been rather chilly but, and I'm not the only one in our group to notice this, any space where there is both sun and seating is filled with Finns, even taking meals outside. I can imagine that after a really dark, cold and long winter the sun must be a delight. And maybe that's why they like saunas so much, whereas for me they're "too much heat".
Colleague says, "More color in Helsinki." He's right.
You know, I can *almost* spot our hotel last October in that photo, off to the left...
There was that one zombie that thought he WAS a turtle.
Awww. ‘tanks!
You ROCK!
I liked all the photos so far, and I’m sorry I’m so late in commenting. However...I noticed the color thing, and keeping in mind how far north they are, I would want LOTS of bright colors, too!
Saunas are beyond my ken, but I understand the principle.
Are you enjoying your visit? I mean, when you’re out of the meetings?
Tip me over and push me down a hill, I’ll ever roll...
Damn you Darks...
Er...that’s not exactly what I meant...
*snirt*
We all know how things are when Darks lurks...
